Toyota Sequoia Tow VehicleOh the Places We've Been:Trips, Pix & Campground Reviews (now with all 2008) Memory Lane:2002 Coleman Sun ValleyMinivan Towing1976 CitationSears TrailerWhat Else: | Our first trailer was a 1976 Citation, dual axle, 23' in length. It had a 12V demand water pump, propane powered hot water tank, hot and cold running water, a three-piece bathroom (sink, toilet, shower) and 3-way fridge. We had a permanent site in a remote and very private part of Black Donald Park, on Black Donald Lake/Centennial Lake near Calabogie, Ontario. One
of the richest graphite deposits in the world was nearby in the Village
of Black Donald. Today the mines lie beneath Centennial Lake, this
happened because of the construction of a hydro dam at Mountain Chute
in 1965. We had no hookups so "dry" camping was the norm. We used a deep-cycle battery for lights, the water pump and the stereo. We would rent a large propane cylinder and run the fridge continuously for the entire summer. To get water up from the lake we had a gas-powered water pump that we'd use to fill up the holding tanks. We had this trailer for more than six years. Between me and TJH next door we had a deck for each trailer, a gazebo on each deck, a deck overlooking the water and a dock. We also built an outhouse back of the trailers, up on a nice little perch. It even had a door that provided a nice view out over the lake! Here are a few pix... This is a picture of the trailer and deck, before we added the gazebo. Summer 1991
This is me snoozing with daughter #1 on the deck, after the gazebo was built. By the looks of things she kept us up the night before! Summer 1993
