Once upon a time...

This is the tent trailer our family had when I was a kid.  It was a 1966 Sears tent trailer and was just that -- a tent on a trailer box.  But it was great!  We roamed Canada from the east coast to the west coast and countless points between.  We even spent Christmas one year camping in Florida!  My uncle had the same trailer and recalls paying around $400 for it back then.  On this slide my Dad wrote "September 1966, At Last - Off the Ground".  In this picture the trailer was brand new, sitting in our driveway in Mississauga, Ontario, where we lived at the time.  Not even a license plate on the trailer yet!

My sisters and I using the top of the trailer for a lunch break near Magnetic Hill, Moncton, New Brunswick.

That's me, Geodude, in the middle, just a few short years ago!

This is us camping at Tunnel Mountain Campsite, Banff, Alberta.  Notice the tow vehicle - a '59 Mercedes 180.  My Dad had two of them, virtually identical.

Later on the 'Benz was traded for a light green '68 Ford Ranch Wagon station wagon and my Dad painted the trailer to match.  Try doing that with today's trailers!
